After briefly reaching zero active COVID-19 cases last weekend, new cases are being reported in four Montana counties that border southeast Alberta and southwest Saskatchewan. Health officials in that state say seven new cases on Friday in Blaine County, south of Shaunavon, brings the total in the region south of the international border to 25. That includes nine diagnosed cases in Hill County, which includes Havre, Mont., and three in Toole County, south of Coutts, Alta. Those counties, plus Liberty County, which remained at zero Friday, reported no active infections on April 23. In Hill County, the total number of vaccine doses administered approached 10,000 this week among a eligible population of 12,300. That figure includes 4,500 shots denoted as second doses. Statewide, about 327,000 residents in the state of 1.1 million are considered fully immunized as 713,000 total doses have been administered, officials say. 7
