Kellen Taniguchi had been making a name for himself as a rising young reporter in his home province of Manitoba, and the Medicine Hat News editorial board is thrilled to introduce him as the newest addition to the team.
Taniguchi joins the News after completing his studies with the University of Winnipeg and Red River College in April 2020.
In the time since, Taniguchi has interned and freelanced at the Winnipeg Free Press and spent time as communications co-ordinator with the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference.
“I look forward to being a part of the Medicine Hat News team and meeting people in the city,” said Taniguchi. “I am excited to tell all the stories the Hat has to offer.”
Taniguchi will report on a wide array of topics with the News, from health and human interest, to sports and crime.
When he’s not out reporting, Taniguchi says he enjoys reading, watching sports and golfing – something he’ll surely have no shortage of in the sunny Gas City.
