Patterson Grain to offer crop input and protection from Dunmore terminal

By Medicine Hat News on February 23, 2021.

Paterson Grain will begin offering crop input and protection services from its Dunmore terminal in time for planting this season, company officials have told the News.

A new 100-by-150-foot warehouse is now being built at the site, located east of the hamlet of Dunmore on Highway No. 1, which would add sales and deliveries of seed, bulk feed, herbicides and pesticides.

“We’ve had such a good history in the area that it’s a logical step to expand our offerings out of that office,” said Richard Kieper, the director of crop inputs for the Winnipeg-based grain handler.

“We hope to be able to service growers this spring.”

This month the county planning commission approved the application by Paterson’s construction wing, PTC Construction, to build the shop.

The company has offered crop inputs at its Fox Valley, Sask. location, and more recently added a facility similar to the Dunmore project at its Swift Current terminal.

The local expansion does not include fertilizer offerings, though Kieper said the company is always evaluating expanding services across its network.
