A train that was transporting grain derailed near Bow Island on Sunday.
A spokesperson for CP says it happened about 11 a.m. east of Bow Island with 14 cars filled with grain being derailed.
“There were no injuries to the crew and no public safety concerns. After all track repairs were made and safety inspections complete, CP reopened the rail line to freight traffic early Monday morning,” said the spokesperson in an emailed statement on Monday.
The incident remains under investigation.
The County of Forty Mile Tweeted on Sunday afternoon that the derailment had resulted in the closure of a road: Range Road 103 and 104 from Highway 3 to Township Road 112.
