Hatter charged in relation to storage unit B&Es in Brooks

By Medicine Hat News on February 9, 2021.

A Medicine Hat man has been charged with breaking into storage lockers in Brooks, the RCMP detachment in that city announced Monday.

In late January, mounties were called to investigate a break-in to seven units at a local storage complex, and then on Feb. 4 executed a search warrant at a residence on Wild Rose Court W.

Police say they recovered hand and power tools, electronics, plus hunting and firearms accessories, leading to charges of possessing and trafficking stolen property, as well as breaches of release conditions,

Samuel Whitford, 31, was scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat provincial court on Monday.

Two charged in break-in string

Coaldale RCMP say they have arrested two men behind a rash of thefts from businesses in southwest Alberta over the last two weeks that extended east to Bow Island.

Henry Nuedorf, 23, of Taber, and Isaak Klassen Dyck, 34, of Lethbridge are both charged with eight counts of breaking and entering following investigations in Picture Butte, Coaldale, Coalhurst and Lethbridge County.

The investigation is ongoing and a release Monday states charges could be added from the Bow Island detachment.

Police say the pair took a firearm and ammunition, medication, laptops and a large amount of cash during the robberies.

Neudorf was freed on bail and will next appear in Lethbridge provincial court on March 24. Dyck remains in custody and is next in court on Feb. 12.
