Two deaths linked to recent COVID-19 outbreak at MH Regional Hospital

A COVID outbreak in acute care last month at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital has now been linked to two deaths.

Alberta Health Services reported on its website that an outbreak was declared Jan. 14 on one unit at MHRH. 14. The outbreak was declared after three patients and two health-care workers linked to this specific unit tested positive for COVID-19 – five cases total.

The latest information from AHS is that two deaths are now associated with this outbreak.

No additional information has been made available by AHS or Alberta Health.
