A local photography club is showing off its members work for the next couple months at Cafe Verve.

The mini-exhibit went up at the beginning of the New Year and showcases work from a number of the city’s best photographers.

“We had an open theme with this show,” said club president Robert Ingram. “It looks like we have quite a few landscape shots, so we dedicated a wall to that.

“On the other wall we have some portraits, macro photography and some nature.”

The club has one or two showings every year to show off the work its members does.

“It’s been a little more difficult with the pandemic, but it’s important for us to do,” said Ingram. “Everyone shown in our show is a member of our club and of the community.”

The Medicine Hat Photography Club’s Facebook page is home to monthly contests. The club also allows non-members to take part in theme-based exhibits on their social media page.

Most of the pieces are for sale at Cafe Verve, with prices ranging from $75-150. On top of being taken by local photographers, the high-quality prints are done at Boylan Imaging.

The show is open until March 1. Cafe Verve is open for takeout and the owners encourage people to check out the art show while picking up their order.

“People can come in and take a look at the pictures,” said Ingram. “The food and coffee here is great. We hope people come through.”

Cafe Verve is located 1175 Dunmore Rd.
