Medicine Hat Real Estate ceases open houses until new year

By Medicine Hat News on November 21, 2020.

The Medicine Hat Real Estate board has suspended open houses until the end of the year, according to several realtors in the city.

Open houses were cancelled for several months this spring during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

Several agencies posted on Friday that as a result of rising case numbers in the city, the real estate board directors had suspended new open houses until Dec. 31.

Officials from the MHREB did not return phone calls to the News requesting more information.

Big donation

International Petroleum Corp has donated $25,000 to the local United Way to help fund mental health initiatives in southeast Alberta, the service agency announced Friday.

IPC Canada operates major oil and gas fields in the region, including the CFB Suffield drilling block since 2018.

The United Way of Southeastern Alberta announced the donation on its social media account.

SW Sask closures

Public and administration buildings throughout southwest Saskatchewan were closed to the public on Thursday and will remain so until at least Dec. 17, or when the province lifts the capacity limits for indoor gatherings, several municipalities have reported.
