Olde Tyme Christmas a go with drive-thru style on Dec. 5

The elves at the Medicine Hat Stampede office have devised a drive-thru plan to see the 11th annual Olde Tyme Christmas go ahead.

The event will include a to-go bag of treats supplied by partner Save-On-Foods, as well as photos beside Santa in his sleigh at the exhibition grounds on Saturday, Dec. 5.

From 4-7 p.m. that day, vehicles will enter Gate 1 at the south ends of the Grounds on 21st Avenue, to the Cypress Pavilion where St. Nick will be located.

Attendees may exit vehicles to take Santa pictures or have one provided online, but are asked to be quick and follow directions.

Heading then toward the Kinplex, four tents will provide car window service.

Save-On-Foods will provide 2,500 “to go” containers with a hot dog, juice box, candy cane, bag of chips and condiments.

Attendees will not be permitted to mingle, and are asked to stay in their vehicles at all times for general road safety in a crowded lot and health precautions.

Washrooms will not be available. Masks are recommended as per Alberta Health Services advice.
