The Southern Alberta Humane Society and Pet Park Boarding Kennel are hoping to find six-year-old Petey a home.

The Staffordshire Terrier came to the boarding kennel late in September last year when his owner dropped him, and another dog off for a stay.

The owner never returned for the dogs and they quickly ended up back in the care of the boarding kennel.

Rubble, who received a lot of social media attention, was adopted to his forever family in February.

Petey was adopted out once, but was returned.

He has been working with local dog trainer Tara Martice to find out what kind of home he needs.

Pet Park manager Helen Sanderson says the perfect home would be one with no other pets. If small kids are around, parents should be too.

“Petey has been around kids with his foster family and he has been fine,” she said. “We’re working on getting him used to a muzzle, but we aren’t really introducing him to other dogs yet.”

Petey is living with a foster family, and people can reach out to the humane society to set up a meeting with him.

If Petey is adopted within the city, Martice is offering her training services for free to help with the transition to a new home.
