The Alberta Health Services chief zone officer for this region has left the organization.

Katherine Chubbs, chief south zone officer AHS, has accepted the role of president and chief executive officer with the Good Samaritan Society and Good Samaritan Canada, according to a spokesperson for AHS.

Her last day with AHS was Oct. 19.

Linda Iwasiw, at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital is currently the interim chief zone officer for the south zone.

Chubbs was appointed to her position in the AHS south zone April 2017 having moved to Lethbridge from Newfoundland and Labrador.

At the time she said she was particularly interested in certain elements of the South zone such as Indigenous health, mental health and addictions.

She had previously worked for AHS in the north zone before returning to the east coast.

Chubbs replaced Sean Chilton, who moved to Edmonton in 2017 for an AHS position as vice president, collaborative practice, nursing and health professions.
