A membership drive and fundraiser for a new community association in Medicine Hat will go ahead this Saturday at Central Park. The Southeast Hill Neighbourhood Association hopes to connect with residents, add active members and gain feedback on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. Photographer Emma Bennett will be offering to take Halloween pet photos, and kids in costume are welcome to join in. A minimum $10 donation per photo will be forwarded to the local Alberta Pound and Rescue Centre. A bottle drive will raise funds for the group, which hopes to stage several community events in the coming year. The 12-month membership fee is $10. Forms will be provided or can be downloaded at the group’s Facebook page (SEHNA). T-Shirts that read “I (heart) the Hill” will also be offered for $20. Attendees are asked to follow good general health protocols for a safe and enjoyable outdoor event. As general boundaries, the group uses Division Avenue and Sixth Avenue (roadway and trail) for areas south of Fifth Street nearest downtown, then First Street past Fourth Avenue. 10
