There have been four deaths reportedly linked to COVID-19 in the province over the weekend and one of those is in this region. Alberta Health reported on Monday that there had been a COVID-19 death in Lethbridge County, where there are currently 25 active cases. Lethbridge itself now has 134 active cases. Across the province there were 311 new cases on Friday, 231 on Saturday and 356 on Sunday, according to Alberta Health data. The total number of deaths is 292 since the start of the pandemic in Alberta, 117 are in hospital and 18 in ICU. The regions with the most COVID patients in hospital is Edmonton at 64, Calgary 42 followed by the north and south zones each having four and the Central zone has three. Medicine Hat has three active cases and Cypress County one. The whole of the South zone has four people in hospital with COVID-19 and two of those are in ICU. The Calgary zone has 998 active cases, Edmonton 1604, central zone 148, south zone 191, north zone 180 and 17 have not been defined by zone yet. 9
