Methanex says that all cases of COVID-19 at its Medicine Hat chemical plant are resolved.

The company made the statement on Monday, about two weeks after it announced that several new cases within a singe work group brought the total to five.

“Methanex can report that there are no active cases COVID-19 positive cases in our workforce in Medicine Hat,” officials said Monday in a release.

On Sept. 14, the company publicly disclosed that two cases had been diagnosed, and precautions were being taken, and the people were isolating.

The statement also said that the company continues to operate with safety and health protocols that “meet and exceed” guidance from health officials.

The statement thanked employees and contractors during an ongoing maintenance project for adhering to standards on an off site.
