Paving will begin Monday on long portions of Kipling and Spencer streets that were the scene of substantial underground work this summer. Southbound motorists on Kingsway Avenue will be restricted to one lane near the work until Oct. 9, a city release states. Work began in the spring to replace water, sewer and storm drains along the roadway west of the Kingsway Avenue and Dunmore Road intersection. That work has proceeded west along the route toward Kin Coulee Park and currently has forced the closure of Third Avenue access to the Southeast Hill. The current timetable states that work will advance to the final phase on Oct. 13, up to College Avenue, though traffic will be still be able reach that north-south connector via Division Avenue and Old Cemetery Road. Drainage work Crews will begin constructing a storm water swale near a busy intersection on Dunmore Road on Monday morning. Work will close access to 22nd Street (at the top of the Dunmore Road Hill), and reduce southbound traffic to one lane. Swales gather and redirect large amounts of rain water. Work is expected to be complete by late in the day Tuesday. 10
