A Brooks-based drilling company will pay $50,000 for safety infractions after a worker fell from a walkway while cleaning a rig near Rosetown, Sask., in 2018.

Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety announced the fine on Friday following a guilty plea in provincial court from Bonanza Drilling.

A surcharge was added to the fine of $35,700 for failing to provide and maintain a safe work environment. One other charge was withdrawn.

The worker was seriously injured in the incident that occurred on Feb. 17, 2018 at Herschel, Sask.
