Eye doctors want to negotiate on their own

The Eye Physicians and Surgeons Association of Alberta called on the Government of Alberta to negotiate directly with a group of its physicians rather than with the Alberta Medical Association. Minister of Health Tyler Shandro said the previous government had appointed the AMA as the exclusive representative of physicians in legislation in 2018. In order to negotiate with a different group of physicians, that legislation would need to be amended. 3-2
