Five new cases of COVID-19 reported in Hill County

Cases of the COVID-19 have risen in Hill County, Mont., which includes Havre, days after the area recorded its first new case in months.

Five new cases appear on the state’s Coronavirus tracking map for the county that sits across the U.S.-Canada border from Cypress County, Alta.

They include three teenagers and two men, aged in their 30s and 40s. That follows the discovery last week that a women in her forties had tested positive. The new cases follow from contact tracing.

Statewide, 44 new cases were reported Wednesday by health officials in Montana, which has a population of about 1 million. Of 1,371 total cases since March, 580 are considered active with 22 hospitalizations at present. A total 23 people have died of the respiratory disease.
