Police arrest man who pulls out knife during investigation

Police say they arrested a man on Thursday morning after he pulled out a knife while officers were conducting an investigation. Officers were called to the 1000 block of Balmoral Street at about 6 a.m. on a report that a 20-year-old man had taken a vehicle without the consent of its owner. They found the suspect on the next block and, police allege, when they approached the man brandished the weapon. He complied with a command to drop the knife and was taken into custody and faces charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and taking a motor vehicle without consent. Charges have not been laid and he suspect is not named in a police release. 4-3
