AHS seeks volunteers for various councils

By Medicine Hat News on June 11, 2020.

Alberta Health Services is recruiting volunteers to serve on the Health Advisory Council, the Cancer Provincial Advisory Council, and Addiction and Mental Health council.

Membership on these councils is an opportunity to provide a local perspective on health-care services. A term of service is for two or three years.

Volunteers for the Cancer and Addiction and Mental Health council is best suited to people who have lived experience with cancer or addiction and mental health matters.

All advisory councils report to the AHS board of directors and meet about five times a year with AHS zone and provincial leadership present at the meetings. It is an opportunity to learn about AHS initiatives and discuss information gathered from communities about health-care priorities that impact them.

If you are interested and are more than 18 years old, you can submit an expression of interest form, available online at https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/ac/ac.aspx

or call 1-877-275-8830

or email community.engagement@ahs.ca.
