Division Avenue water, sewer project will see temporary closure at Eighth Street SW

Work to replace aging water and sewer infrastructure on Division Avenue S., continues and requires the closure of the intersection of Eighth Street SE and Division Avenue, effective June 1.

This is necessary to ensure minimal interruption to water service on the SE Hill while work continues at the intersection of Fifth Street SE and Division Avenue.

The city says residents can expect this closure to last until mid-June, subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays.

The entire Division Avenue project will take until the end of July, with work taking place in phases. This allows crews to complete the work in segments and ensure there is reasonable access to local businesses and residences during construction.

Detours will be in place and motorists are reminded to obey all traffic signs and detours related to ongoing construction.
