AHS makes COVID-19 changes to lab services in Medicine Hat

By Medicine Hat News on April 16, 2020.

Alberta Health Services has made changes to laboratory services in Medicine Hat.

The outpatient laboratory in Medicine Hat Regional hospital is now closed to the public. Patients who continue to attend any other clinics at the hospital will have their urgent laboratory blood work collected by the onsite lab team as needed.

Other patients requiring blood work in the Medicine Hat area should use the Medicine Hat laboratory collection site at 44 Carry Drive, where the hours of operation have been reduced.

Patients that have a compromised immune system (by physician-referred appointment only) can attend between 7 and 8 a.m. from Monday to Friday.

Those who are self-isolating and are asymptomatic (with a physicians-referred appointment only) can attend between 4 and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Others can go between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and on Saturdays between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m.
