The parking fees you’ve been used to paying at the hospital are now suspended due to COVID-19

Alberta Health announced it has directed Alberta Health Services to temporarily suspend parking fees for both health-care workers and the general public during the pandemic.

Starting April 3, parking at all AHS facilities will be free to health-care workers and the general public.

This change will also reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread from touch screens and buttons at payment sites.

The general public are asked to be respectful of spaces allocated for staff, including those for emergency use.

The decision to suspend parking payment will result in an estimated loss of $7.6 million a month in parking revenue across the province.

Parking violations, such as parking in fire lanes, will continue to be enforced

The temporary suspension of parking fees will end once visitor restrictions are lifted.
