Hill County cases remain at one

By Medicine Hat News on April 4, 2020.

The number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Hill County, Mont. – which includes Havre – remains at one, according to that state’s Department of Emergency services.

A male in his sixties was diagnosed on March 25, and remains the lone resident of the county to have tested positive while the statewide number rose to 243 on Thursday, including 24 hospitalizations.

About half were combined in Galatin County (93), near Idaho, and Billings (36). Liberty County, located west of Hill County, directly south of Pakowki Lake, Alta. also had a single case.

The state has a population of about 1 million residents.

Montana Governor Steve Bullock ordered on March 26 that all non-essential businesses in the state close until April 10 in order to prevent the spread of the disease.

National Guard troops have also been posted at train stations and airports to take temperatures of travellers and help enforce a 14-day isolation period for anyone arriving from out of state.
