Take a few seconds on Friday to give frontline health-care workers a round of applause

By Medicine Hat News on March 31, 2020.

Say thank-you to frontline health-care workers on Friday by putting your hands together in appreciation.

The Medicine Hat News is encouraging you to stand outside your home on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and clap continuously for 15 seconds in a show of support.

Physicians, nurses, all those working at the hospital including cleaners and those in the laundry, those in doctors offices, paramedics, air ambulance operators, those working with seniors in seniors’ residences, home care workers and more, are putting their lives on the line like never before to care for all during this COVID-19 pandemic.

They understand the personal risks they are taking but they are doing it anyway.

Where would we be without them?

If you are not at home on Friday evening, pull over and step out of your vehicle, step out the building you’re in, or stand on a balcony and applaud enthusiastically.

All health-care workers need to know how much the community appreciates them.

Spread the word.
