The Page and Whisker bookstore is offering free delivery on purchased books while people are staying indoors.

The store’s entire catalogue can be viewed online and it offers multiple methods of purchasing.

“We wanted to be able to help support our community, so we waived our delivery fee with everything that’s going on,” said store manager Dana Kerr. “We know some people may not want to leave their house and others can’t – reading is a great way to pass the time.”

Kerr says there has been a small uptick in delivery since the outbreak of COVID-19 and the store will make same-day delivery anywhere in the city.

Kerr says literary fiction and kids books have been popular lately.

“I think parents have been trying to keep their kids’ minds active,” she said. “We have a huge selection of just about everything.”

Kerr says there is a quarantine period for books that are donated to the store. Staff also sanitizes books that come in.

“We can bring books right to your doorstep,” she said. “If people don’t want the human contact, we can even just leave them at the door and walk away.”

More information can be found by calling the store at 403-487-0155 or online at http://www.thepageandwhisker.ca
