Nominations open for Special Area seat

The process to fill a vacant seat on the Special Areas board for an area northwest of Jenner has begun.

A nomination day for district 4, which includes Cessford, Wardlow and Pollockville, is set for next month to determine candidates for a byelection for the seat in Special Areas No. 2

The vacancy will open due to the resignation of current board member for the district, Brent Horner, which takes effect on May 15.

Nominations will be accepted between 10 a.m. and noon on April 3 at the Pollockville Hall (the Hardgrass Hub).

A byelection, if needed, is tentatively set for May 15.
