A man accused of murder in relation to a late-2018 homicide at a downtown apartment building will have his day in court, but not until next year.

Donald Goodwill’s trial for second-degree murder is scheduled for May 3-14, 2021, in the Court of Queen’s Bench.

Few details are known about the circumstances surrounding the homicide.

Goodwill was arrested Dec. 14, 2018, in Saskatchewan, the day after police found a deceased missing person at a Fifth Avenue SE apartment building.

Police have since confirmed the victim is 23-year-old Dustin Ironquill. They believe the victim and accused were known to each other.

At the time of his arrest, police called the investigation a “complex file” that will take a “considerable period of time” to piece together.
