The Furry Friends Foundation has a table set up at the 13th Avenue Co-op to raise funds and supplies for its operations.

The organization is the food bank for pets, meaning people can contact the group and get help if they cannot afford to feed or clothe their pet.

The group’s table has a spread of warm jackets and sweaters for cats and dogs that people are free to take. The group is also giving out collars, leashes and bowls for people and pets in need.

“We just want people to reach out to us,” said Margaret Racz, who was working the table Thursday afternoon. “We don’t ask anyone what they make or what their household income is – we just don’t want any pets to go hungry.”

Racz says Furry Friends is “always busy” and that this past year has been the busiest yet.

The group is looking for cash and food donations.

The table is set up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Saturday.
