Advisory committee has made funding available to seniors groups in Medicine Hat

By Medicine Hat News on October 8, 2019.

There is money to give away to local seniors groups.

“There is a fairly large pool of money available. We’d like to spread it around to big and small groups anywhere in the city as long as seniors are involved,” said LaVerne Noble, chairperson Senior Citizens Advisory Committee.

The money was generated in two ways: casinos and a legacy grant by Alberta 55-plus Summer Games.

Seniors groups can apply for funds to support capital purchases, equipment or upgrades.

Groups wanting to apply should complete an application form, which is available at the Veiner Centre reception desk or email Noble for a copy: lcnoble@telus.net

If you would like additional information telephone Noble at: 403-504-9627.

They deadline to submit applications is Oct. 31.
