Vocalist pair giving library concert in support of SPCA, food bank

By Medicine Hat News on October 4, 2019.

Two local vocalists are giving a concert at Medicine Hat Public Library on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., with proceeds going to charity.

Classically trained vocalist Lydia Burger and Edmund Camphor, who has been the recipient of a number of awards, have been performing together for some time.

“About five years ago we teamed up as a singing pair and we performed together for several groups over the years. Lately we also decided to move away from both our classically trained backgrounds and concentrate more on light music and old favourites,” said Burger.

The concert will take place in the library theatre and the vocalists will be accompanied by Allison Kapcala.

Burger says the songs will be ones from Andrew Lloyd Webber, Josh Groban and other favourite songs such as Danny Boy.

There is no entry fee but there will be an opportunity to make a donation to the SPCA or the food bank, said Burger.
