RCMP recover safe and merchandise stolen from Vulcan County Co-op

Mounties have recovered a store safe and $13,000 worth of merchandise taken during a break-in at a rural Co-op store in Vulcan County.

Gleichen RCMP searched a property near Cluny on Sept. 27 and arrested three people after a stolen vehicle was spotted near the location. They say lottery tickets, ammunition, consumer goods and cigarettes taken from the Arrowood, Alta., grocery store were recovered along with a “significant amount of drugs.

Troy Jordan Lemke, 35, is in custody on charges of breaking and entering, possessing stolen property and trafficking methamphetamine.

Two others have been charged with possessing the proceeds of crime. Monty Skotniski, 39, and Joyce Taylor, 33, are to appear at Siksika Provincial Court on Oct. 10.
