Wild Horse winter hours start Oct. 1

Hours of operation at the Port of Wild Horse will return to reduced winter hours starting Oct. 1, the Canadian Border Service announced on Thursday.

The border crossing into Montana located 150 kilometres south of Medicine Hat will operate daily from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. until next May.

The crossing operates until 9 p.m. each day in the summer.

The CBSA reports that during the May to August summer period travellers numbered 16,000 in 7,000 vehicles. Similar figures were reported at the end fo the 2018 summer period.

CBSA is also preparing to close entirely for the winter the Chief Bear Mountain crossing, which is located within Waterton Lakes National Park.
