Aquatic centre at Family Leisure Centre closing for a couple weeks for scheduled maintenance

The Kinsmen Aquatic Park at the Family Leisure Centre will be closed for annual maintenance starting Aug. 16, except for the 50-metre pool, which will close a day earlier.

Work is expected to be complete by the beginning of September, with the facility scheduled to reopen for swimming at noon on Sept. 2.

The city says annual maintenance is necessary to help ensure the facility remains at the highest possible standard for the community. The 50-metre pool will also have a new lighting system installed in order to be more energy efficient.

The rest of the facilities at FLC will remain open while the maintenance program is underway.
