Sean Watson has spent the last 25 years of his life perfecting his craft as an illusionist.

Watson grew up in Winnipeg and now lives in Las Vegas – from where he travelled to take part in his first Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede.

“I love it here,” he said. “The people have been amazing and the performances have been so much fun.

“I flew my assistant in from Vegas to be here and we’re having a great time with these audiences.”

Watson’s show includes a section where he cuts his assistant, Heather Bruno, in half, making her disappear and much more.

“We do a lot in the show and we really try to get people involved in the show,” he said. “There’s always a lot of kids in the audience and we don’t just focus on them – if their parents want in we’re happy to involve them as well.

“We do pick pocketing and making watches disappear – everyone is loving it so far.”

Watson says skeptics should come out for one of his shows.

“It’s all in the name of good fun,” he said. “We’re here to make people smile and laugh and this is just a really fun form of entertainment for people.”

Watson has shows Saturday at 12:30, 3 and 5:30 p.m. on the Stay in Medicine Hat North Stage.
