The local office of Brooks-Medicine Hat MLA Michaela Glasgo will be located on Fourth Street SE, the same location of former MLA Bob Wanner's office. Glasgo's Medicine Hat office will be a satellite one, with the main office in Brooks.

There are two constituency offices for Brooks-Medicine Hat, with Brooks being the main one and Medicine Hat a satellite office.

“The reason behind that was my full-time staff member lives in Brooks … Rather than incur expenses for her to be traveling excessively, we put the full-time office in Brooks,” said Michaela Glasgo, MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat.

According to census records, the Medicine Hat-Redcliff area of the riding has a population of about 22,415, while Brooks has 14,451.

Glasgo says the decision was based on her main staff member.

“To accommodate her and where she lives, Brooks was chosen as the primary office but both offices give the exact same service,” said Glasgo.

She says she made it clear during the election that there would be two offices and that they would both be fully staffed, which they are.

“I am in my office as often as my constituency needs me to be there,” said Glasgo.

Glasgo says her home is in Medicine Hat but she will be spending time in both constituency offices.

“My goal is to split my time evenly between Medicine Hat and Cypress County, and Brooks and the County of Newell,” said Glasgo. “That’s exactly what I have been doing – events in both places.”

Glasgo says she will meet the expectation that she be available in both offices to meet with constituents as needed.

A spokesperson said the Medicine Hat office is open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and by appointment on Fridays.

Although most of Glasgo’s time since the election has been in Edmonton, she says she has also been meeting with constituents as required.

Glasgo is the first MLA to be elected in the Brooks-Medicine Hat riding after electoral boundaries were changed. Former MLA Bob Wanner was the last elected MLA in the riding of just Medicine Hat.

The Medicine Hat constituency office is located where Wanner’s office was at 537 – 4 Street SE downtown.
