Three dead after weekend plane crash

Three people are dead after a small plane travelling from Medicine Hat to Moose Jaw crashed near Irvine this weekend.

The plane departed at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday from the Medicine Hat airport and the trip was estimated at roughly 90 minutes.

Redcliff RCMP were assisted by multiple search and rescue teams this weekend and the plane was located by the military. The search started in the Moose Jaw area and worked its way back towards southeast Alberta as time went on.

RCMP media spokesperson Curtis Peters says the identities of the deceased are unknown.

Peters says the search is over and that the RCMP will not release more details.
