Hatter Ryan Carlson takes a look at a piece of produce Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Save on Foods. The store is open as of this morning.

After much anticipation, Medicine Hat’s Save-on-Foods is now open.

The store held a sneak peek event Thursday evening allowing Hatters to get an early look at the store and to get a number of samples.

“It’s an exciting day for us,” said store manager Jeff Woods. “It’s been a great response from Medicine Hat so far and we know people are excited for us to open up.”

The store is located on Strachan Corner and will be open seven days each week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“We’re a Western Canadian Company, we support local products and we love to support the community,” said Woods. “We love to give great service and offer great products – we’re ready to get going.”

The store is home to an in-store kitchen, offers fresh sushi, has a mix-and-match wing bar and a pharmacy. Woods says the store will have weekly deals to give Hatters plenty of chances to save money.

“Our weekly deals are awesome,” he said. “We have a lot of front-page deals and we constantly have meat deals going on throughout the week.”

Woods says people who are faithful to only one or two stores should give Save-on-Foods a shot.

“Come out to a nice, clean, full, friendly, fresh store,” he said. “We stand by our price and we hope to see a lot of people out giving us a try.”
