Charges laid in pedestrian hit and run

By medicinehatnews on December 12, 2018.

Assistance from the public has led to charges being laid in a pedestrian hit and run last month.

On Nov. 28 at about 3:20 p.m., a dark-coloured four-door pickup truck hit a 12-year-old male while the boy was crossing the street at a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Carry Drive and Southview Drive.

The female driver of the pickup then drove the boy to his home before leaving without providing contact information.

After numerous tips from the public a suspect vehicle was identified and charges have been laid against a 27 year-old Medicine Hat woman.

The woman is charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in crosswalk, failing to remain at the scene, failing to report an accident to the police and operating a vehicle without a drivers licence.
