Cypress County has a new chief administrator.

Tarolyn Aaserud, the former manager of Paintearth County in east-central Alberta, will take over the position in Dunmore on Nov. 13, the county announced Wednesday morning.

The position was opened last spring with the departure of Doug Henderson, while council hired Peter Tarnawsky as an interim chief administrative officer while the hiring process took place.

That job search, conducted by recruitment firm DCG Executive Search Services, resulted in this week’s hiring of Aaserud, according to county council members quoted in a release.

“Her obvious commitment to teamwork with staff and customer service came through in her interview with council”, said Reeve Richard Oster.

According to her biography, Aaserud has held the top administrator’s position in Paintearth County, which is centred in Castor, since 2009.

Previous to that, she worked in senior management at Saddle Hills County in Northern Alberta, the Town of Killam, and began her career as agriculture director with the County of Grande Prairie in 1997.
