Canalta Centre job fair will teach resume writing and possibly land attendees immediate employment

The Canalta Centre is hosting a job search and resume writing workshop on Aug. 9 from 3-7 p.m. in conjunction with SMG Canada and the Academy of Learning.

The Academy of Learning workshops will run every hour for half an hour at 3, 4, 5 and 6 p.m. They will be set up at the Molson Canadian Hockey House on the main concourse of Canalta.

At the same time, SMG will be hiring for concessions, kitchen, janitorial, guest services and box office jobs at Canalta. Available hours will be based on the centre’s schedule.

“Continuous learning and education is vital for people no matter what stage they are at in their career,” said Canalta Centre general manager Tammy Sweeney.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to team up with the Academy of Learning to be able to offer the entire Medicine Hat community an opportunity to learn about the importance of looking for the right job and creating a professional resume, as well as the chance to apply and work at the Canalta Centre.”

Those interested in attending the workshop should bring a copy of their resume, or application form if they’re applying to SMG.
