A man made a brief appearance Monday at Medicine Hat Provincial Court facing charges of assault, forcible confinement, overcoming resistance through choking, uttering threats, as well as several breaches.

Chance Michael Arndt appeared in person, along with defence lawyer Stewart Kennedy, who requested an adjournment to have more time to discuss the matter with the Crown, which was granted.

Arndt’s next appearance is scheduled for Aug. 27.

In total, he faces nine charges — two counts of unlawful confinement, one of uttering threats, one of choking to overcome resistance, two of assault and three failures to comply with probation orders.
