UPDATE: Police say missing Medicine Hat woman found, sister says otherwise

Shelby Marek is seen in this photo shared by her sister on Facebook. Marek has been missing since July 17, when she was last seen outside the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. He family is concerned for her safety.

UPDATE 3: At 8:15 p.m, an inspector with the MHPS reconfirmed that Shelby is no longer considered missing. As far as they know, she is in hospital in Edmonton. The News recently spoke with a family member in hopes of connecting them with police.

UPDATE: According to Medicine Hat Police Service, Shelby Marek has been found.

A young woman reportedly went missing from the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital last week, her family says.

According to Facebook posts from her sister and aunt, Shelby Marek was out for a cigarette when she was last seen the morning of July 17. She didn’t have her cellphone, bank card or clothes.

Marek is described as five-feet tall and 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
