Redcliff RCMP seek two suspects in attempted fuel theft

Redcliff Mounties are searching for two men in an older, red Ford pickup they say nearly ran over a farmer who thwarted a fuel theft on Thursday.

Authorities say two males were attempting to fill the slip tank on a 2008 Ford F-350, with a licence plate of EFZ-473, when the landowner approached them but was nearly runover as they fled.

Later, the same truck was seen near the Servus Credit Union where the men were attempting to cash what authorities say was a forged cheque.

The Redcliff RCMP detachment says anyone who spots the vehicle or suspects should contact authorities immediately, either at the detachment, 403-548-2222, through 911 or their local police service.

“As these subjects have already shown disregard for safety, the public are advised not to confront them,” reads a statement in a release.
