Medicine Hat News Police in Medicine Hat are investigating the death of a man who was involved in several “altercations” outside a city bar at closing time late last week. The major crimes section of the local police service states in a release that an unnamed 38-year-old male died in Calgary hospital on Sunday. He was transferred there Saturday after twice seeking medical treatment locally on separate occasions on June 22 and 23. Police say they were only made aware of the case after the man’s death on June 24. Investigators are now looking into “one or more” altercations the man was involved in near the Cecil Hotel at about 2 a.m. on Thursday, June 21. Police are attempting to determine if the injuries were the result of the altercations. Note: This story has been updated to correct the month the incident took place. 9
