A call about erratic driving in Strathmore led to the arrest of a Brooks man, and seizure of cocaine.

Strathmore RCMP report that on June 9 they responded to the complaint about the driver on the Trans-Canada Highway. The vehicle and driver were located while entering the town limits of Strathmore, and a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was arrested without incident, while 250 grams of cocaine was located in the vehicle and seized.

An investigation into the sobriety of the driver resulted in numerous charges being laid against 25-year-old Yonas Negussie of Brooks, including impaired driving by drug, breach of conditions and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Negussie remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 19.
