Southern Alberta man up to 97 charges after another 25 added

A 34-year-old southern Alberta man faces 25 new criminal charges — on top of the 72 charges he already has against him — after fleeing from Brooks RCMP earlier this week.

RCMP report that on June 5, mounties attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspected “prolific offender” on a stolen motorcycle in Brooks. The suspect fled from police.

Brooks RCMP and the Brooks General Investigation Section from the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Team later located the suspect and stolen motorcycle at a Brooks residence. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Found in his possesion were numerous stolen identity cards, forged documents and stolen cheques. Several items were seized during the operation, including astolen1999 Suzuki motorcycle, stolen and forged documents, stolen identity cards and a 2003 Ford F150.

The accused was wanted on six outstanding warrants for a total of 72 criminal charges including property, person, fraud and weapons offences.

An additional 25 criminal charges have been laid, alongside two charges under the Traffic Safety Act. These include flight from police, possession of stolen property, possession of stolen documents, fail to comply with release conditions, possess forged documents, drive unauthorized and more.

Adam Zinger of Patricia, Alta., was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace and is to appear in Brooks Provincial Court on June 13, Lethbridge Provincial Court on June 14 and Calgary Provincial Court on June 15.

A 33-year-old woman was also arrested on scene but released without charges.
