A series of roof replacements at various city parks began Monday and continue throughout much of the summer, according to a release from the parks department.

Officials expect minimal disruption but warn that brief closures may take place while work is ongoing.

Work on picnic shelters and washrooms at Strathcona Island Park got underway on May 28, and could be done this week, depending on the weather.

Work begins next week on the Gas City Campground office for the remainder of June.

Upgrades to the Echo Dale Regional Park washrooms and boat hut will proceed for much of July.

The Heritage Pavilion Building at Strathcona Island Park will be re-roofed during two to three weeks in August. The Echo Dale Regional Park swim centre will see workers there after the Labour Day weekend.

Park patrons are asked to remain a safe distance from construction and obey signs in the areas.
