Not guilty, says 34-year-old accused in break-ins, thefts

Not-guilty pleas were entered Wednesday by a man Mounties arrested in connection to a number of break-ins and thefts of property in northern Cypress County and Medicine Hat.

Counsel for Tyler GregoryOtterson set the trial for July 27 for the eight counts the 34-year-old faces.

A statement from the Redcliff RCMP detachment says that on April 18, local officers joined with members from the neighbouring province and used tracking dogs to apprehend two individuals wanted in connection to robberies in the Hilda and Schular areas.

They also recoveredstolenitems including two saddles, a trailer, twostolenpickup trucks and astolenATV.

Otterson was chargeswith robbery, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession ofstolengoods over $5,000, breaking court conditions and fleeing from a police officer.

He remains in custody at the Medicine Hat Remand Centre, having not yet sought bail.
