AHS hosting Curious about Cannabis event at MHPL

Medicine Hat News A public information event about cannabis is being offered by Alberta Health Services on May 16 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Medicine Hat Public Library theatre. The topic — Curious about Cannabis — will be led by AHS addiction and mental health professionals who will share information on cannabis use with interested parents, professionals and/or community members. It will be an opportunity to learn about the health effects of cannabis use, low-risk use guidelines, prevalence rates, prevention strategies and resources and more. The event will include a brief discussion about the proposed federal and provincial policies regarding cannabis legislation, which is expected to come into effect this summer. Registration for the event is not required. 7-6
